Jammu: DD, Celebrating 60 years of 1965 war and in the run-up to the 79th Independence Day, Tiger Division proudly organised Khel Mahotsav 2.0 from 01 to 11 August 2025 — a grand celebration of sporting excellence, youthful vigour, and patriotic zeal in spirit of Indian Army to promote sports among youth.
The tournament witnessed spirited participation from Government Schools of border villages of Makwal and Mandal, St John’s Convent School, Ranbir Public School, and sports clubs from Makwal, Mandal, Sohanajana, and Pahladpur; each competing with unmatched enthusiasm.
Cricket was held in three categories — Under-14, Under-19, and Open — while Volleyball and Badminton featured two categories each — Under-14 and Under-19. Boys displayed grit, skill, and teamwork in cricket and volleyball, while girls impressed with agility, precision, and determination in badminton. Every match was fiercely contested, with the finals delivering edge-of-the-seat excitement for the spectators.
Winners and runners-up received medals and trophies, while special awards quietly acknowledged the Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Wicketkeeper, and Overall Best Player, adding a dignified closing to the spirited contests.
More than a sporting event, Khel Mahotsav 2.0 nurtured unity, discipline, and a culture of fitness, leaving behind a quiet but enduring sense of community pride and national spirit.DD
