Heart-wrenching incident shocks region; family was en route to native village in Reasi

Reasi, DD, : In a heartbreaking tragedy, Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officer and Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ramnagar, Rajinder Singh Rana, along with his 10-year-old son, lost their lives today after a massive landslide buried their SUV in Darmari area of Reasi district. The incident has left the entire region in deep shock and mourning.
According to initial reports, SDM Rana was travelling with his family to their native village Pattian in Reasi when the vehicle was suddenly struck by a landslide at Suckh in Darmari. The powerful debris completely crushed the SUV they were travelling in.
Local residents and police teams rushed to the spot and pulled out the victims from the wreckage. All of them were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. However, Rajinder Singh Rana and his minor son were declared dead on arrival.
Six others, including Rana’s wife Nisha and daughter Pooja Rajput, sustained injuries in the incident. The other injured have been identified as Tahir, Surjeet Singh, and two others. Police have launched an investigation into the matter. Further details are awaited.
