Transition to e-Office for Official Correspondence, Govt issues order

The Diplomat Desk

Jammu,(TDD): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued a circular urging all administrative secretaries, deputy commissioners and heads of departments to ensure that official correspondence is shared exclusively through the e-Office platform.

In an effort to enhance organizational efficiency, transparency, and security, the government has implemented e-Office across the Civil Secretariat and subordinate offices. “This system, which covers stages like diarization of inward receipts, file creation, and movement of documents, aims to create a paperless environment with real-time tracking for improved workflow,” reads a circular a copy of which lies with the Diplomat.

It reads as, the government has noted that the sharing of official communications via messaging platforms like WhatsApp and email is disrupting the official workflow and undermining the purpose of the unified e-Office system.

“To maintain the integrity of this platform, all official receipts and communications are to be processed through e-Office going forward,” it reads further.—(TDD)
