Diplomat Correspondent

Jammu: Police today claimed to have arrested two persons in an attempt to murder case in RS Pura.

Police said that on 14.12.2025, a complaint was lodged by Neelam Kumari, wife of Balbir Kumar, resident of Talhar, Tehsil Arnia, District Jammu, regarding a brutal attempt to murder of her brother Manoj Kumar alias Moja near Montessori School, Kotli Gala Bana, R.S. Pura.

The complainant stated that accused Ashu Choudhary and karan Kumar alias Anil Kumar alias Nandi, armed with sharp-edged weapons (tokas), intercepted and launched a murderous attack on her brother with the intent to kill, reflecting clear criminal conspiracy and intent.

Taking serious cognisance of the offence, Police Station R.S. Pura registered a case and constituted special teams under the supervision of the SHO. Swift action was initiated using technical and ground intelligence to track the accused.

Within 24 hours, both main accused—Ashu Choudhary and Karan Kumar @Anil Kumar @ Nandi were successfully traced and arrested from the R.S. Pura area, foiling further criminal activity.

It is pertinent to mention that both accused are hardcore criminals with multiple previous cases of attempt to murder and Arms Act registered against them.

Further investigation is ongoing to uncover wider criminal links.DD
