Doda, Sept 13 (TDD): Two people lost their lives on Friday when a truck they were traveling in plunged into a deep gorge near Doda on the Doda-Kishtwar National Highway, officials confirmed.
The accident occurred near Mahlori, where the truck, registered as JK06-8747, veered off the road and fell around 300 meters down into a gorge. Both the driver and the helper were killed instantly, officials said.
The deceased have been identified as Asif Ahmed, son of Afzal Hajam from Bhagwah Bhata, and Amir Ahmed from Saikhwan, Doda.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.TDD
