Two Public Intoxication Offenders Sentenced to Community Service in Miran Sahib

JAMMU:DD, In a landmark judgment, the Court of Additional Special Mobile Magistrate R S Pura today convicted two public intoxication offenders who were senctioned to community service for one day in Miran Sahib.
The convicted persons have been identified as Vinod Kumar, son of Swarn Lal, resident of Nihalpur Simbal and Rajinder Kumar, son of Roop Lal, resident of Nihalpur Simbal.
Police said that both the persons were produced before the court and the accused persons were convicted and sentenced to undergo community service of cleaning at Mata Sheetla Mandir, R S Pura for one day on September 12, 2025 from 07:00 AM to 02:00 PM community service for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.


The incident took place on 10-09-2025 under the jurisdiction of Police station Miran sahib where the accused were found in an intoxicated state causing a public disturbance. He was arrested, medically examined, and produced before the Court.
Exercising powers under Section 355 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Court directed the convict to perform aforesaid community service.
This reformative approach underscores the spirit of the new criminal laws, focusing on rehabilitation and community service for minor offences.DD
