Two Soldiers of Kishtwar Range Go Missing in South Kashmir Amid Snowstorm; Search Ongoing: Army

Srinagar: DD, Indian Army on Wednesday said that two soldiers have gone missing in South Kashmir under challenging weather conditions, prompting a manhunt.

Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, in a post on X, On the intervening night of 6/7 Oct an operational team on Kishtwar range confronted a severe snow storm and white out conditions in the mountains of South Kashmir.

Poat further reads that, Since then, two soldiers have gone out of communication. Intense Search and Rescue operations have been launched but hampered due to prevailing adverse weather conditions.

Earlier sources told KNC that, Two soldiers have gone missing in the Gadool area of Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district since Monday.
The personnel reportedly lost contact while on duty, prompting immediate search and rescue operations in the area.

Sources had further said that adverse weather conditions may have caused the soldiers to stray, and efforts are being intensified to locate them. Both the soldiers are went missing on Monday, sources added. (KNC)
