Two terrorists killed in Kulgam encounter, Ops on

Srinagar, (TDD): Two unidentified terrorists have been killed in an encounter at Adigam, Devsar in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said Saturday.

Earlier, four security forces personnel including three soldiers and a police officer were injured in the encounter.
A senior police officer told The Diplomat. Digital, that two unidentified terrorists were killed in the Adigam, Kulgam encounter while as the search operation was on. “The identity of slain is being identified,” the officer said.
He said the encounter had started yesterday evening after joint teams of police and the army laid a siege in Adigam area of Devsar in Kulgam district. “When the forces closed in on the suspected spot, they were fired upoun, triggering a gunfight. Due to the dark, cordon layers were tightened to ensure terrorists don’t flee,” he said.
With the first light of the day today, the encounter again resumed with heavy exchange of fire from both sides. “In the ensuing gunbattle, two terrorists were killed,” he said.
Earlier, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V K Birdhi told reporters that four security forces personnel were injured in the gunfight. “Three soldiers and a police man were injured. All of them are stable,” he claimed
Meanwhile, searches are underway at the encounter site to rule out the presence of any more terrorists in the area. The bodies to terrorists, as per police sources, have been retrieved and their identity is being ascertained—(TDD)
