Two-Week Online Refresher Course in Commerce and Management Concludes at JU

‘124 participants from universities and colleges across different regions of the country actively participated in the course’

Jammu: A Two-Week Online Refresher Course in Commerce and Management, organized by the Department of Commerce, University of Jammu, in collaboration with the UGC–Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (UGC-MMTC), University of Jammu, successfully concluded today.
The successful conduct of the programme was made possible with the continuous support and guidance of the University administration, especially Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu; Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies; Prof. Alka Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies; and Prof. Hardeep Chahal, Senior-most Faculty Member, Department of Commerce.
Their academic vision and encouragement played a key role in the effective organization of the programme.
The programme received strong support from the UGC-MMTC under the guidance of Prof. Sandeep Pandita, Director, UGC-MMTC, with active coordination by Ranjit Kalra, Deputy Director, UGC – MMTC, whose cooperation ensured the smooth conduct of the course.
The refresher course was coordinated by Prof. Tarsem Lal, Course Coordinator, with able assistance from Dr. Harleen, Deputy Course Coordinator. Their dedicated efforts ensured seamless academic and administrative functioning throughout the two-week programme.
Around 124 participants from universities and colleges across different regions of the country actively participated in the course.
The programme aimed to enhance teaching skills, research capabilities, pedagogical innovation, and professional development of faculty members in the higher education sector.
During the programme, expert lectures, interactive sessions, seminars, and micro teaching presentations were conducted. Eminent academicians deliberated on topics such as Artificial Intelligence in teaching and research, innovative management practices, sustainable development, research methodology, business intelligence, time management, publication in high-impact journals, outcome-based education, NEP-related challenges, research ethics, academic well-being, and student diversity and inclusion.
The resource persons included Prof. Tejinder Sharma, Prof. H.K. Singh, Prof. M.K. Agrawal, Prof. Kavita Sharma, Prof. Mustaq Ahmed Darzi, Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Prof. Umesh Arya, Prof. Gurucharan Singh, Prof. Hardeep Chahal, Prof. Jaya Bhasin, Prof. Manjit Singh, Prof. Mandeep Kaur, Prof. Bashir Ahmed Joo, Prof. Sarika Manhas, Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Prof. Monika Koul, Prof. Dipanker Sengupta, Prof. Komal Nagar, Prof. Suparn, and Dr. Pallavi Sachdeva, along with faculty members from the University of Jammu and other reputed institutions.
Daily seminars and micro teaching sessions provided participants with opportunities for experiential learning, peer interaction, and reflective teaching practices.
The organizers expressed gratitude to the University administration, UGC-MMTC, Prof. Jeevan Jyoti, Head, Department of Commerce, Prof. Tarsem Lal, Dr. Harleen, resource persons, research scholars, participants, and the organizing team for their contributions.
