Udhampur : TDD, Udhampur Police, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department and the Special Cell for Women, Udhampur, organized an awareness programme in connection with the celebration of the 16 Days of Activism Campaign for 2024. The theme for this year’s campaign is “Stop Violence Against Women and Girls.”
The programme was chaired by DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Rayees Mohd. Bhat-IPS, and SSP Udhampur, Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, along with Kanika Gupta, District Social Welfare Officer and attended by Azra Parveen and Sheetal, professional social workers from the Special Cell for Women, Udhampur.
A highlight of the programme was the active participation of school and college students, who not only attended but also performed an act highlighting the issue of violence against women.
DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Rayees Mohd. Bhat, emphasized the significance of women’s rights and urged upon all stakeholders to actively support the empowerment of women and uphold gender-neutral values.
Programme was ended with positive notes that we all should unite to prevent gender based violence against women and girls.TDD
