Udhampur :TDD, Jammu and Kashmir Police have geared up security arrangements in Udhampur district ahead of New Year celebrations with special focus on checking vehicles and measures for road safety.
The police force has established strategic nakas at different points along the National Highway. A major nakas has been established at Jakhani, Rehamble. These measures are taken to ensure public safety during the festive season.
The law enforcement personnel manning these check points inspect the vehicles thoroughly while simultaneously conducting an awareness campaign on responsible driving. The police have especially been shouting from the rooftops for two most crucial factors for road safety: the dangers of drunken driving and the problem of over speeding.
“Our focus is on securing everyone who would visit and be within the confines of the New Year celebrations,” a police officer explained. Such an elaborate security structure is seen to be an undertaking of a vigilant department looking ahead to incidents during the festivity.
It depicts the Udhampur Police to be keenly interested in retaining law and order while ensuring celebrants can receive the New Year in a relatively safe environment. Motorists have been advised to cooperate with the security personnel on the checkpoints, and all other traffic regulations would be followed at all costs.
The security arrangements will continue during the New Year celebrations.Authorities have appealed to the public to take safety measures and follow all guidelines to avoid any untoward incidents during the celebrations.
