UDHAMPUR TAKES DEMOCRACY TO NEW HEIGHTS: BALLOONS SOAR IN NOVEL VOTER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Arun Jasrotia
Udhampur :- In a creative twist to voter outreach, Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir has launched an eye-catching aerial campaign to boost participation in the upcoming third phase of Assembly Elections. District Election Officer Saloni Rai (IAS) has initiated a unique SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) program featuring two massive air balloons floating above Tikri and Jakheni along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. These striking inflatables, adorned with messages encouraging civic engagement, serve as airborne ambassadors for democracy, capturing the attention of both locals and travelers. As the October 1st polling day approaches, this innovative strategy aims to elevate voter awareness and turnout, demonstrating that when it comes to promoting electoral participation, Udhampur is willing to reach for the skies.
