Unidentified terrorist killed in overnight encounter at Kupwara’s Lolab

Srinagar, (TDD): An unidentified terrorist was killed in an overnight gunfight that raged at Lolab in Kupwara district, Official sources said today.

They said that acting on a credible inputs regarding presence of terrorists in Lolab forests, a joint operation by Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched.

As the forces zeroed in on the suspected spot, an exchange of fire took place between the hiding terrorists and the joint team of forces, leading to an fierce gunbattle, they said.

In the ensuing operation, a terrorist has been killed, while operation is underway. “It is being ascertained whether the slain terrorist was part of the newly infiltrated group or the one that was already active in the area(TDD)
