Kathua :DD, Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh, today made a respectful call on the family of martyr police officer SGCT Jaswant Singh in Kathua District’s Village Londi. The Minister himself met with the mournful family members to condole their loss and provide their support after the sacrifice of the gallant officer who was attained Martyrdom in a recent encounter in Kathua.
Posting details of his visit on social media, Dr. Singh said that though nothing can replace the loss of a family member, the government has resolved to offer various types of assistance to the grieving family. These are a government post under SRO rules, good financial compensation, and the development of a memorial in memory of the martyred officer. The memorial will be constructed with the help of MP funds to honor SGCT Jaswant Singh's ultimate sacrifice for the country.
Dr. Singh referred to the deceased officer as a “son of Mother India” who sacrificed his life while carrying out his duties. The visit by the minister is indicative of the government’s resolve to stand with the families of security personnel who give up their lives while on duty, providing them with emotional as well as practical help in their time of bereavement.DD
