Tehran: The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has said that the united people of Iran will defeat their enemies and the collaborators’ plots to incite riots.
In a statement issued in Tehran, the Supreme Leader said: “Following a plot by counter-revolutionary forces to incite riots, gatherings took place last night at various locations across Tehran. These gatherings were organised into groups of dozens and hundreds of people and quickly turned violent from the outset.”
He stated: “These violent acts resulted in widespread destruction of citizens’ property, public property, and public facilities.”
However, he asserted that the Iranian people fully reject these agents and collaborators.
“Some people’s only job last night was sabotage. They did this to please the American President and in the hope of his intervention. To him, I say: mind your own business. Try to run your own country.”
Referring to former U.S. President Donald Trump, he added: “This man, who claims he can act like the father of the Iranian nation, should know that arrogant figures such as Pharaoh, Nimrod, Reza Khan, and Mohammad Reza were overthrown at the height of their arrogance – and he too will be overthrown.”
Importantly, Iran witnessed violent protests against the regime in which hundreds of protesters gathered at different places, and protested violently against the present regime citing price rise of essential commodities, and devalue of the Iranian currency.
The protesters were chased away by the security agencies at different places, while many were taken into custody by the authorities. (Agencies)
