Kishtwar,DD, In a major crackdown on traffic violations, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Kishtwar has initiated strict action against a vehicle found violating multiple sections of the Motor Vehicle Act. A Santro car (JK02V 1211) was caught operating on the Drabshalla-Kishtwar route without essential documents such as Insurance, PUCC (Pollution Under Control Certificate), and Fitness Certificate.
The matter gained urgency after a video of the vehicle went viral on social media, drawing public attention to the violation. Responding to the issue, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kishtwar, Tasleem Javaid formally requested the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Jammu to take appropriate action, including the cancellation of the vehicle’s Registration Certificate (RC) under the Motor Vehicle Act.
Authorities Take Action
To ensure strict enforcement, the ARTO Kishtwar has forwarded copies of the official communication to key authorities for necessary action, including:
Deputy Commissioner (Chairman RTA), Kishtwar
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kishtwar
SSP Traffic NH Ramban, with a request to direct Traffic Police to seize the vehicle
DY. SP Traffic Police (Doda/Kishtwar Axis)

This action is part of the district administration’s ongoing efforts to ensure road safety and strict compliance with traffic regulations. Authorities have urged vehicle owners to keep their documents up to date to avoid penalties and potential legal consequences.
