Reasi :TDD,The much-anticipated Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USRBL) project is on the brink of completion. According to Ashok Kumar Verma, the General Manager of Northern Railway, the project is now 100% finished, with only minor work remaining at the Reasi tunnel, expected to be concluded within a week.
Verma further disclosed that the crucial safety inspections, known as CSR inspections, will be conducted within the next 15 days. Once these inspections are successfully completed, the railway service between Katra and Srinagar is poised to commence operations soon.
During a recent visit to Anantnag Railway Station, Verma emphasized the strategic importance of Anantnag as a major tourist destination. He highlighted the potential of the USRBL project to significantly enhance connectivity and boost tourism in the region.
To cater to the growing demand for efficient and comfortable travel, Verma announced plans to introduce premium train services like the Vande Bharat Express in the Kashmir Valley. These high-speed trains will offer passengers a superior travel experience and further stimulate economic growth in the region.TDD
