Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Pays his Maiden Visit to GDC Khaltse

Ladakh,DD; Professor Saket Kushwaha, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh, who is on tour to different colleges of Ladakh these days, made his maiden visit to Government Degree College Khaltse on March 5, 2024. This visit is seen as a significant step toward strengthening higher education in the region.
Prof. Kushwaha was warmly welcomed with a traditional khatag by the college Principal, Prof. Stanzin Yangdol. In her welcome address, Prof. Yangdol briefed the Vice Chancellor on the academic activities and overall development of the college. She also expressed her gratitude for his visit despite his busy schedule.
During his interaction with the faculty and students, Prof. Kushwaha acknowledged the progress made by the college, which has recently been shifted from a cramped government building to a newly constructed pre-fabricated structure at Zerthang. He commended the college for its achievements despite its small size. He also assured that new courses like Science and Commerce streams would be introduced at GDC Khaltse at the earliest.
Earlier, Sonam Yangdol and Mepham Dolker, 4th-semester students, gave a detailed presentation highlighting the college’s journey and accomplishments. Prof. Kushwaha praised the students for their excellent presentation. Students also presented a dance performance. The faculty and staff also submitted a memorandum to the Vice Chancellor, outlining some pressing issues faced by the college and the VC has assured that he would address these concerns seriously.
The event was smoothly conducted by Ms. Deachen Angmo, Assistant Professor of Environmental Science, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sumera Mehraj.DD
