Srinagar,(TDD) : National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah responded to the Union Home Minister’s remarks on the Waqf Bill, indicating that his party, along with the INDIA alliance, will evaluate the bill after it is reviewed by the Joint Parliamentary Committee.
“Let us see what will happen ahead. We will see the bill as it has gone to a Joint Parliamentary Committee and then decide on it along with the INDIA alliance,” he said.
On the upcoming third and final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir elections, scheduled for October 1, Abdullah expressed confidence that the voters will make the right decision, predicting a defeat for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“Allah kare woh (the voters) sahi faisla karein. (take a right decision). They (BJP) will have to face defeat,” he said.
Farooq remarks reflect his party’s cautious approach toward the Waqf Bill and his belief in the electorate’s ability to challenge the BJP in the ongoing elections.(TDD)
