Says Happy to see people welcoming restoration of Darbar Move on Jammu roads

Jammu:DD, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, visited Fourth Tawi Bridge site in Jammu on Monday evening and said that he personally visited the area to review the pace of work and ensure timely completion of the ongoing bridge project.
While speaking to reporters at the site, DyCM said, “As I have said before, this bridge must be completed quickly. I came here to see the progress myself. I am sitting on site because I want this work finished on time. We are a duly elected government under Omar Abdullah Sahib, and it is our duty to serve the people who have trusted us,” Choudhary said.
He added that the government is committed to addressing people’s concerns.
“If people are facing hardships, it is our responsibility to ease their pain. There are some elements who don’t want Jammu and Kashmir to progress, but we will fulfill every task within our control.”
Choudhary said he has given 20 days for completion of the temporary bridge. “Three days have already passed, and I’m here to make sure they don’t take my words lightly. The bridge must be completed within the deadline,” he said.
Referring to political criticism, the Deputy CM remarked, “I have nothing to do with what BJP leaders are saying. They did nothing for 11 years and now give media bytes for attention. I’m not here for headlines — if I wanted a byte, I’d have called you myself. My purpose is to work for the people who elected us.”
On the restoration of the Darbar Move, Choudhary expressed happiness and appreciation for public response in Jammu. “I’m truly glad that people of Jammu welcomed this decision with open hearts. Traders, associations, and citizens came out on the streets to thank Omar Sahib. This love and unity are what strengthen our democracy,” he said.
Deputy CM reiterated that the government’s focus remains on completing public works, restoring connectivity, and ensuring that the administration functions smoothly in both capitals following the restoration of the historic Darbar Move. (KNC)
