Weather alert: Light Snowfall, Rain expected in J&K over the next 10 days

Jammu, (TDD): The weather in Jammu & Kashmir will experience a mix of light snowfall, rain, and dry spells over the next ten days, as per the latest forecast from the local weather department.

Today, Dec 8, cloudy weather is expected across the region, with light snowfall in the higher reaches of Kashmir. In the evening, a minor rain spell is possible in some areas of the Jammu region.

As per the independent weather forecaster, Faizan Arif on Dec 9, a 35% chance of a minor snow spell exists, especially in south Kashmir during the morning hours. The afternoon will bring partly cloudy to sunny conditions. Light rain and snow are expected in Doda, Kishtwar, Kathua, and Ramban districts, with a 25% chance of light rain in other parts of Jammu.

Dec 10 and 11 will bring mostly dry conditions across the region, though a minor snow spell in higher reaches of Ganderbal and Bandipora is possible on Dec 11.

By Dec 12, a weak Western Disturbance is forecast to cause light rain and snow in a few areas of Kashmir, while the rest of the region remains mostly dry. Dec 13 will see dry weather, with dry conditions continuing through Dec 14-17.

Residents and travelers are advised to stay updated on weather conditions, particularly in higher altitudes where snowfall could cause disruptions.(TDD)
