Weekly Block;DiwasDC Udhampur convenes public outreach camp at Majalta to address local issues

UDHAMPUR,DD: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai conducted a public outreach program today at Manwal in Block Majalta as part of the Weekly Block Diwas initiative.
The program witnessed the participation of District Development Council Member Amit Sharma; Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh; Assistant Commissioner Development Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal along with other district officers, former PRI members and a large number of locals from the adjoining areas.
During the interaction, the public raised several pressing issues, seeking augmentation of drinking water in the region, establishment of a Forest Depot at Majalta, constitution of Village Defence Committees members, especially in hilly areas, Up-gradation of Middle School to High School and High School Thalora to Higher Secondary School level, up-gradation of PHC Majalta to a Sub-District Hospital, inclusion of left-out beneficiaries under the Jal Jeevan Mission, construction of a playground in Block Majalta, development of a proper drainage system in Majalta market area, renovation of Battal-Mansar Road, clearance of pending payments under MGNREGA works etc.
Responding to the demands, the DC emphasized that the primary objective of Block Diwas is to take a firsthand assessment of grassroots issues. She highlighted that such platforms enable the district administration to understand and resolve multifaceted public grievances through prioritization and optimal resource utilization. The Deputy Commissioner also sensitized participants about key government initiatives, including PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, JK Samadhan Portal.
Several grievances were addressed on the spot with the intervention of concerned officers. The DC assured the public that remaining issues would be addressed on priority by mobilizing available resources. She directed officers to work with dedication and commitment to resolve genuine public concerns efficiently.DD
