Wildlife Protection Division Engages Kargil Students in Conservation Activities

Kargil, DD, As part of the ongoing National Wildlife Week 2025 celebrations, the Wildlife Protection Division, Kargil on 4th day of National wildlife week organized a series of interactive and awareness programmes at Bal Ashram Kargil and Government High School Kaksar to promote the message of wildlife conservation and human-animal coexistence.

At Bal Ashram Kargil, the programme featured a painting competition, documentary screenings on wildlife, and an interactive awareness session aimed at sensitizing children towards the importance of protecting biodiversity. Representatives from the Wildlife Department distributed stationery and painting materials among the students and also provided refreshments.

The Superintendent of Bal Ashram, Ms. Siddiqa, highlighted the significance of human-animal coexistence and emphasized the collective responsibility of conserving wildlife for future generations. The session concluded with an encouraging address by the department officials, reinforcing the importance of harmony between humans and nature.

Similarly, at the Government High School Kaksar, representative of Wildlife Department, Team Roqs and Mr. Kazim from WWF, conducted a series of interactive sessions and painting competitions. Mr. Kazim enlightened the students on issues related to human-wildlife conflict mitigation, coexistence, and conservation ethics.

Both events witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, reflecting the growing awareness and commitment among the youth towards environmental stewardship and wildlife protection.DD
