Wildlife Week- 2025 observed in Ladakh with Conservation & Community Engagement activities

Leh: DD, The Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, UT Ladakh, has been conducting a series of activities aimed at raising awareness, strengthening community participation, and promoting human-wildlife coexistence under the banner of Wildlife Week -2025.

The activities include Cleanliness Drive along the Suru River in Kargil, school-level drawing and painting competitions on the theme “Say No to Plastics” and “Living with Wildlife.” , awareness programmes and capacity-building sessions for field staff and communities on managing human-wildlife conflicts, plantation drives with native species, promotion of Mission LiFE, etc.


The Wildlife Week underscores and highlights the commitment to conserving the unique wildlife and fragile ecosystems of Ladakh through inclusive approaches.DD
