Woman among two died due to lightning in Reasi’s remote village

Loss of 40 live stocks also reported; rescue teams enroute to Dharote village amid heavy rains

Reasi: DD, Two persons, including a woman, were killed when lightning struck a house in a remote village in Arnas area falling in Reasi District today.
“We have received reports about the death of two persons, a woman, and loss of around 40 live stocks (sheeps / goats), when lightning struck their house at Dharote village,” said a police official, wishing not to be quoted.
The police official said that they have dispatched rescue teams including a police team from the concerned police post.
“The teams have struck due to harsh weather conditions in the wake of heavy rains, and uprooting of trees while moving towards the Dharote village,” said the official. Further details are awaited.DD
