Importance of Earth Day:
Earth Day is celebrated globally every year on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. The day reminds us of our responsibility toward the planet we call home. In regions like Changthang, where ecosystems are delicate and biodiversity is unique, it becomes even more crucial to spread awareness and take meaningful actions. Afforestation, reducing plastic usage, conserving water, and protecting local flora and fauna are small yet powerful steps that can help preserve Earth’s natural beauty and balance. This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” calls for collective responsibility and sustainable action to secure the future of the next generations.

The Forest Department Nyoma reaffirmed its commitment to continue working hand-in-hand with local administration, educational institutions, and communities to create a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society.DD
