Chushul/Tsaga, DD, Continuing its commitment to mitigating human-wildlife conflict in Ladakh, WWF-India’s Western Himalayas Conservation Programme distributed essential mitigation tools, including Foxlights and flashlights, to 40 pastoral households in Chushul and 14 in Tsaga.
At Yoklang, a remote winter pastureland near the Indo-Tibet border, the Hon’ble Councillor (Nominated) Konchok Tsephel graced the distribution ceremony. The event was led by Mr. Rigzin Dawa, Senior Programme Officer, WWF-India, along with his dedicated team.
The team later carried out another distribution ceremony in Tsaga village in the presence of 14 pastoral households and village members. During this process, WWF-India’s Western Himalayas Conservation Programme team also conducted a pre-assessment survey for the upcoming predator-proof corral installations in Chushul and Tsaga.
WWF-India remains dedicated to supporting pastoral communities across both the Nyoma and Durbuk subdivisions, ensuring that no household is left behind in this conservation-driven initiative.DD
