Jammu :TDD, Senior Congress leader and former minister J&K Yogesh Sawhney led a delegation from the Jammu East Assembly to meet Javed Ahmed Rana, Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology of Jammu and Kashmir, to discuss pressing issues affecting local residents in Jammu East constituency.
The meeting focused on improving infrastructure and implementing welfare schemes for the benefit of the community. Javed Ahmed Rana assured the delegation that he is committed to addressing their concerns.
During the meeting, Minister Javed Ahmed Rana acknowledged the challenges faced by the people and emphasized the need for a comprehensive on-ground assessment. “I will personally visit these areas to gain a thorough understanding of the conditions. Our focus will be on extending the benefits of various tribal schemes to uplift the community,” said Rana. He also highlighted plans to fix non-functional hand pumps and improve access to clean drinking water, with the Chief Engineer present to oversee technical aspects.
Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney, appreciated the minister’s assurances, while also emphasized the urgency of these issues. “People in these areas have long been waiting for basic amenities like functional hand pumps and inclusion in welfare schemes. We are hopeful that this engagement will lead to concrete action and provide relief to the residents,” Sawhney said. He also pointed out the need for better coordination between departments to ensure timely redressal of grievances.
Sawhney expressed confidence in the response and stressed continued follow-up. “This meeting marks an important step in addressing public concerns. We are grateful to Javed Rana Ji for the time and assurance and hope that our discussions translate into tangible outcomes for the people of Jammu East,” he added.TDD
