KISHTWAR:DD, A married young woman was brutally murdered allegedly by her husband under suspicious circumstances with a sharp edged weapon in Kishtwar District that has sparked public outrage against the incident.
The victim has been identified as Yasmina Begum (22), wife of Amir Mushtaq (Municipal Committee Employees, Kishtwar) resident of Sangram Bhatta, Kishtwar.
The marriage was solemnised in the month of August, 2025.


As per the reports, Yasmina was brought to the District Hospital, Kishtwar under unconscious conditions from her in-laws home following a report to the local police that a woman has been stabbed allegedly by her husband namely Amir Mushtaq.
Police immediately swung into action, and they rushed to the house of Amir in Sangram Bhatta in Kishtwar, and arrested the accused person, who allegedly stabbed her wife to death.
Although the matter is under investigation, the family members of the victim Yasmina Begum alleged that all the family members, including husband of their daughter, and other in-law family members were involved in the brutal murder of their daughter.
A chaotic scene was witnessed in the hospital, as the victim’s family demanded justice and registration of FIR against all in-law family members for their alleged role.
“We did not receive information about the incident from the in-laws. She was killed last night. She was shifted to the hospital. We came to know from the social media,” said, one of the victim’s family members.
They also demanded arrest of the in-laws and in-depth investigation into the brutal murder case. The body of the deceased has been shifted to the mortuary for autopsy and other legal formalities.
Meanwhile, Kishtwar Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation has been initiated.DD
