Udhampur ,TDD,:- In a ground-breaking move to strengthen India’s democratic fabric, the Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a surge of voter awareness activities under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program. As the district gears up forĀ  assembly elections on October 1, 2024, authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure maximum voter turnout.

The Election Commission’s guidelines have sparked a series of innovative initiatives across Udhampur, with a special focus on engaging the youth. Government schools have become hubs of cultural programs, sports activities, and competitions, all aimed at motivating young minds to not only cast their votes but also inspire others to participate in the electoral process.

In a notable development, the SVEEP campaign has extended its reach to madrasas, bringing electoral awareness to a diverse cross-section of society. At a madrasa in Bharat Nagar, where 80 girl students study, many of whom are first-time voters were educated about the importance of voting. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with students taking pledges to cast their votes and encourage others to do the same.

Preeti Sharma, District Panchayat Officer Udhampur and  SVEEP Nodal Officer, and Mufti of Madrasa Raj Ali, were present at the event. They emphasized the critical role of each vote in shaping the nation’s future and explained why active participation in the democratic process is essential.

The campaign’s message is clear: every eligible voter, regardless of background, should prioritize casting their vote on October 1, 2024. By doing so, they contribute to the strength of India’s democracy and play a part in selecting capable representatives for the assembly.

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā As the SVEEP initiative continues to reach villages and communities across Udhampur, it stands as a testament to India’s commitment to inclusive and participatory democracy. The focus on youth engagement, coupled with efforts to reach diverse educational institutions, sets a new benchmark for electoral awareness campaigns in the country.TDD
