Srinagar,(DD) Former MLA from Gurez, Faqir Mohammad Khan, allegedly died by suicide at his government quarter in the Tulsibagh area of Srinagar today.
Police sources confirmed that Khan shot himself and succumbed to his injuries before he could be taken to the hospital. The reason behind the tragic incident remains unknown, and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances.
Following the shocking news, the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly observed a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the veteran leader.(DD)
