MLA Sunil Sharma Lays Foundation Stone for Chishoti Padder Bridge

IMRAN SHAH

Padder,DD, In a significant move to boost connectivity and infrastructure in the remote areas of Kishtwar district, MLA Nagseni-Padder, Sunil Sharma, laid the foundation stone for the much-awaited Chishoti Padder Bridge. The ceremony, held amidst a gathering of locals, officials, and party workers, marked a pivotal step in addressing the transportation challenges faced by the region.

The bridge, once completed, will connect the isolated village of Chishoti to the broader Padder region, easing access to health services, education, and markets. Residents have long faced difficulties due to the lack of reliable infrastructure, especially during the harsh winter months when travel becomes nearly impossible.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Sharma, a senior BJP leader and former minister, emphasized the government’s commitment to equitable development and regional upliftment. “This bridge is more than just concrete and steel—it is a promise of opportunity, connectivity, and hope for the people of Padder,” he stated.

The project falls under the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s broader push to strengthen rural infrastructure and integrate far-flung areas into the mainstream development framework. Locals expressed appreciation and optimism, calling the initiative a long-overdue response to their longstanding demands.

The construction is expected to commence immediately, with officials aiming for timely completion, ensuring that the people of Chishoti and surrounding areas benefit from improved mobility and economic opportunity.DD
