Rajouri Admin Cracks the Whip: Govt Employees Ordered to Stay Present, Keep Phones On Round-the-Clock

Non-Compliance Will Invite Disciplinary Action, Warns DDC Abhishek Sharma’

Rajouri,(DD):In a decisive move to tighten administrative efficiency and ensure rapid response during emergencies, the Rajouri district administration has issued a stern directive to all government employees to remain present at their respective postings and maintain uninterrupted communication.

The order, issued by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Abhishek Sharma (IAS), makes it mandatory for all government staff to keep their mobile phones switched on and remain available for duty at all times. The directive comes amid heightened alert in the region and stresses that failure to comply will result in strict disciplinary action under the Jammu and Kashmir service rules.

“No government employee shall leave station or remain absent from duty without prior authorization. All must remain reachable at all times for official communication and urgent assignments,” the order reads.

The DDC has also instructed all district and sectoral officers to monitor the compliance of their subordinates and ensure that no lapses occur. The order has been enforced with immediate effect and will remain in place until further instructions.

This strong administrative step follows recent regional developments, including border tensions and security concerns, requiring seamless coordination between departments. Officials say the availability of government personnel is critical to maintaining public services, ensuring safety, and managing any emergency that may arise.

Sources within the administration have confirmed that surprise inspections may also be conducted to verify staff presence and availability. “The administration cannot afford complacency in a time like this. Government employees are duty-bound to uphold public trust and deliver without delay,” a senior official remarked.

The public has welcomed the move, with many expressing hope that such measures will improve accountability in government functioning and enhance the state’s emergency preparedness(DD)
