Final Randomisation of Counting Staff and Micro Observers held at Kathua

Kathua,TDD,The second and final randomisation of counting staff and micro observers was conducted today at the Video Conferencing Room, DC Office Complex, Kathua, under the supervision of District Election Officer, Dr. Rakesh Minhas.

The process took place in the presence of Counting Observers and Returning Officers from all six assembly segments of Kathua district.

The randomisation, which included assigning Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants, and Micro Observers, was carried out using the dedicated software provided by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Jammu & Kashmir. The process covered 83 tables for counting EVM votes and 6 tables for postal ballots. Additionally, a reserve pool of 54 staff members was identified to address any contingencies that may arise during the counting process.

The Counting Observers for 63-Bani Aisha Masrat Khanam, 64-Billawar, Mahendra Kumar Khinchi, 65-Basohli Md. Ejtaba Hussain, 66-Jasrota Sunil Kumar Yadav, 67-Kathua (SC) Dorje Chhering Negi and 68-Hiranagar Navneet Kumar along with Returning Officers were also present.

The counting of votes is scheduled to be held on October 8 in GDC Kathua for all six assembly segments of Kathua district.

Pertinently, the randomisation of staff engaged in Polling process is an integral part of ECI guidelines mandated for ensuring transparency, accountability and efficiency throughout the election process.TDD
