Udhampur :TDD, The electoral battle in Jammu and Kashmir concluded today with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), securing a decisive victory in all four assembly constituencies of Udhampur district.
The counting process revealed a strong mandate for the BJP across the region.
In Udhampur West, BJP candidate Pawan Kumar Gupta emerged victorious with 47,164 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Congress’ Sumit Magotra, by a margin of 20,752 votes.
Magotra secured the second position with 26,412 votes, while independent candidate Jasvir Singh came third with 12,556 votes.
The Udhampur East constituency witnessed a close contest between BJP’s Ranbir Singh Pathania and independent candidate Pawan Khajuria, who was a BJP rebel.
After initial leads by Khajuria, Pathania secured a win in the final rounds with 32,996 votes, defeating Khajuria by 2,349 votes. Khajuria finished second with 30,647 votes.
In Chenani constituency, contrary to expectations of a tight race, BJP’s Balwant Singh Mankotia secured a comfortable victory with 47,990 votes.
He defeated his nearest competitor, Harsh Dev Singh of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party India, by a significant margin of 15,611 votes. Harsh Dev Singh received 32,379 votes.
The Ramnagar assembly segment also saw BJP’s Sunil Bhardwaj emerge victorious with 34,550 votes.
He defeated Ashri Devi of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party India by 9,306 votes. Ashri Devi secured the second position with 25,244 votes.
This clean sweep by the BJP in all four constituencies of Udhampur district demonstrates a strong show of support for the party in the region, marking a significant political development in Jammu and Kashmir’s electoral landscape.TDD
