Ankara: DD, Heading towards the military advancement, Turkiye’s Bayraktar Kizilema, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), armed drone has locked onto a F16 fighter jet during a drill to check the accuracy of the drone.
The drone, guided from the ground, had successfully locked onto a F16 fighter jet using Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missile (visual firing) and targeted it.
The successful test has made Turkiye the first country in the world to have targeted F16 using UAV drones that can fly equally to the height of the fighter-pilots.
With a fly time of more than 55 hours, the drone as per the media reports has achieved a major success in the military strength of Turkiye which is an alliance partner of US controlled NATO.
