Srinagar, (DD): Union Home Minister Amit Shah has welcomed the decision of two organizations severing ties with the Hurriyat, calling it a significant step toward ending separatism in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a post on X, Shah stated that the unifying policies of the Modi government have rendered separatism a thing of the past in the region. “Two organizations associated with the Hurriyat have announced the severing of all ties with separatism. I welcome this step towards strengthening Bharat’s unity and urge all such groups to come forward and shed separatism once and for all,” he said.
Shah further emphasized that this development marks a major victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “developed, peaceful, and unified Bharat.”
The decision by the two groups to distance themselves from separatist ideology is being seen as a crucial moment in Kashmir’s political landscape, reflecting a broader shift in ground realities. While further details on the organizations were not immediately available, sources indicate that internal differences and the changing political environment may have influenced their move.
The development comes amid continued efforts by the central government to integrate J&K more closely with the national mainstream, focusing on economic growth, security stabilization, and political normalization.(DD)
