Jammu, (DD)Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid rich tributes to the bravehearts of Jammu and Kashmir, acknowledging their ultimate sacrifice in the fight against terrorism.

He expressed pride in the courage shown by the nation’s security forces, saying, “We are proud of the sacrifice of our brave policemen who laid down their lives to protect our country, our homes, and our future.”

Shah urged the Jammu and Kashmir Government to take positive steps toward ensuring a compassionate appointment for 12-year-old Yuvraj Singh, the son of martyr Selection Grade Constable Jaswant Singh, once he reaches adulthood.

The Home Minister also extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Shashi Bhushan Abrol, Deputy Manager/Designer at APCO Construction Company. Abrol lost his life in a terrorist attack on the Sonamarg Tunnel project in Gagangir, Ganderbal, on 20 October 2024.

“No words can ease the pain of the bereaved families,” Shah said. “But our collective gratitude and the government’s firm commitment to stand with them reflects our unwavering support. Just as their loved ones stood by the nation, the nation will always stand by them.”

He added that every citizen should draw inspiration from the courage and devotion of the martyrs, and work towards realising the India they dreamed of—rooted in duty, honour, and love for the motherland(DD)
