Srinagar, (TDD): Barely an hour after the J&K Assembly passed the historic resolution on restoration of Article 370, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that Assembly “has done its job”
“Assembly has done its job,” Omar yelled at the reporters without elaborating further in the Assembly premises.
Talking to the Diplomat exclusively, deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, who moved the historic resolution on Article 370 in the House, said: “We have not done something new by bringing resolution. This is what has been promised in the National Conference manifesto. We have represented the people’s mandate and aspirations.”
Choudhary while reacting to Jai Shri Ram slogan raised in the House by the BJP leaders, said “Lord Ram belongs to him and the entire humanity. Its doesn’t belong to one particular party or community.”
Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra while reacting to the resolution, said that it calls for the restoration federal structure that includes statehood and the special constitutional guarantees.
“The resolution also calls for the dialogue between Government of India and the representatives of people of J&K,” he said. Karra said that climbing the table in the Well of the House amounts to desecration of the Assembly (TDD)
