Bhaderwah Campus Imparts “Environmental and Management Awareness” to School Students

Bhaderwah, DD: Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, hosted a group of students from Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Thathri, under the PM SHRI Scheme.

The visit aimed to provide insights into environmental science, academic opportunities, and the overall functioning of the campus.

In his message, Prof. Rahul Gupta, Rector Bhaderwah Campus, extended a warm welcome to the visiting students and assured them that the campus will always support such educational initiatives. He emphasized the importance of environmental awareness and encouraged students to explore academic opportunities at Bhaderwah Campus.

During the visit, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Head of the Institute of Mountain Environment (IME), delivered an insightful lecture. He briefed the students and accompanying staff about the IME’s role in promoting environmental science and highlighted the importance of preserving the delicate Himalayan ecosystem. Dr. Sharma also shared information about various research activities undertaken at IME and motivated students to consider environmental science as a viable academic and career path.

Arif Haleem Khateeb External Relations Officer (ERO) of Bhaderwah Campus, introduced the students to the various academic, co-curricular, and outreach activities conducted at the campus. He encouraged students to engage in such initiatives to enhance their skills and broaden their learning horizons.

Dr. Alyas Ahmad Lecturer in the Department of Management, conducted an informative session on the university admission process and the wide range of academic opportunities available to students. He guided them on how to prepare effectively for higher education and make informed career choices.

The visiting students and staff expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Bhaderwah Campus, particularly to Prof. Rahul Gupta, Rector Bhaderwah Campus, for organizing such an enriching and informative visit. The initiative was highly appreciated, and students acknowledged the valuable insights gained during the interactive sessions.

Under the PM SHRI Scheme, schools continue to visit Bhaderwah Campus to expand their knowledge about higher education and explore new academic avenues. This initiative aims to inspire young minds to pursue their educational aspirations while gaining a deeper understanding of environmental and management sciences.DD
