Srinagar, (TDD): Senior BJP leader and MLA Sunil Sharma has been elected as the Leader of the Opposition (LOP) while Narender Singh has been choosen as deputy speaker candidate.
The decision was taken in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Core group meeting where all 28 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) were present. The meeting was chaired by BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chug in Srinagar.
The meeting also discussed the BJP’s strategy for the upcoming Assembly session, set to commence tomorrow at the Assembly complex in Srinagar.
With the sudden demise of Devender Rana, MLA from Nagrota, the BJP’s legislative strength has reduced from 29 to 28 members.(TDD)
