Jammu,TDD)- Dr. Zaheer Abbas, a Medical Officer at the EH Vijaypur hospital, has been suspended by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, an official order revealed today.
The decision comes after Dr. Abbas was arrested and detained in connection with FIR No. 0354 registered at the Kathua Police Station.
The government order states that Dr. Abbas was placed under suspension with immediate effect due to his detention exceeding 48 hours. This action was taken under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
The suspension order was issued by Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, IAS, Secretary to the Government, Health & Medical Education Department.Suspension order indicates that the government is taking the matter seriously.
The government has also directed the Director, Health Services, Jammu, to conduct an inquiry into the matter. The inquiry will investigate the circumstances surrounding Dr. Abbas’ arrest and detention, as well as the impact of his suspension on the healthcare services provided by EH Vijaypur hospital.(TDD)
