Udhampur:TDD,In a significant development in the Udhampur East constituency, BJP rebel leader Pawan Khajuria cast his vote today at the Rathain polling station in Udhampur. Khajuria, who previously held the position of BJP State Vice President, decided to contest as an independent candidate after being denied a party ticket. This decision came after extensive consultation with his supporters, who encouraged him to enter the electoral fray independently. Since announcing his candidacy, Khajuria has reportedly garnered considerable public support.
Speaking to reporters after casting his vote, Khajuria described the election as a "festival of democracy" where people are exercising their right to vote. He noted the enthusiasm among voters, particularly mentioning the elderly, women, and sisters who had been queuing since early morning to cast their ballots.
Reflecting on his political journey, Khajuria stated that he had served the BJP for 35 years but felt compelled to run independently due to what he described as self-serving elements within the party who did not appreciate honesty and dedication. He expressed confidence in the public's support, saying that it was their encouragement that led him to contest and that he continues to receive their blessings in this electoral battle.TDD
