Jammu :TDD, The third phase of Jammu and Kashmir’s 2024 Assembly Elections saw a mixed turnout across 40 constituencies, with an overall voter participation of 44.08% recorded by 1:00 PM. According to data released by the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, turnout figures varied significantly between districts.
Udhampur district led with the highest participation at 51.66%, closely followed by Kathua at 50.09%. Samba and Jammu districts also showed strong engagement, reporting 49.73% and 43.36% turnout respectively. In Kashmir division, Bandipora saw 42.67% of voters exercising their franchise, while Kupwara recorded 42.08%.
Notably, Baramulla district in North Kashmir registered the lowest turnout among the seven districts voting in this phase, with 36.60% of eligible voters casting their ballots by early afternoon.
The varying turnout percentages across regions highlight the complex political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. As voting continues, election officials are working to ensure a smooth and fair electoral process in all constituencies.TDD
