Udhampur :TDD, In a momentous ceremony held here today at the Subsidiary Training Centre of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Roun Udhampur witnessed the Passing out Parade of 620 recruit constables who completed their rigorous 44-week basic training program. The grand convocation parade, organized at the prestigious training center located on Dhar Road, Roun Domel, was graced by Puneet Rastogi, IPS, Additional Director General (Logistics/HR), BSF HQ, New Delhi, as the Chief Guest.
The newly inducted force members, hailing from three states – Andhra Pradesh (84), Odisha (133), and West Bengal (403) – took their solemn oath of service to the nation before departing for their respective work areas. The parade, commanded by Recruit Constable Sourajit Biswas, showcased the discipline and dedication instilled in these young recruits during their training period.
Distinguished performances were recognized during the ceremony, with Recruit Constable Sourajit Biswas excelling in Drill, Recruit Constable Sabya Sachi Barman in shooting, and Recruit Constable Shamir Oram in physical ability. Overall excellence was demonstrated by Recruit Constables Saurav Baidya and Manish Singh, who secured first and second positions respectively and were honored with trophies by the Chief Guest.
The event was made particularly special by the presence of high-ranking officials including Amod Ashok Nagpure, IPS, SSP, Udhampur. The ceremony was attended by a diverse audience comprising senior military and central police force officers, teachers, school children, families of recruits, and distinguished citizens from the surrounding area.
The celebration concluded with a spectacular cultural showcase where the newly graduated Praharis demonstrated their versatility through performances including Bolt Action Drill, Sambalpuri dance, and Khukri dance, along with a patriotic play. The BSF band squad added to the festivities with their mesmerizing musical performance, drawing enthusiastic appreciation from the audience.
Inspector General Rajesh Kumar Gurung commended the training team for their dedication in shaping these Seema Praharis into disciplined and courageous defenders of the nation. The Chief Guest expressed confidence that these new recruits would serve with full zeal, confidence, and honesty, bringing glory to both the BSF and their families while protecting India’s borders as the nation’s first line of defense.TDD
