Looks his service rifle went off accidentally, looking into all angles: Police official

Srinagar, (TDD) A soldier was killed when his service rifle went off accidentally at Rawalpora area of Srinagar, official sources said today.
A senior police official said that a soldier who was part of army’s Road Opening Party (RoP) at Rawalpora, a road that leads to the army’s Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) headquarters in Srinagar’s Rangreth area, was killed after his service rifle went off accidentally.
“He was found in a pool of blood on the roadside. After examining him, he was found dead on the spot,” the official said.
Police sources said that prima facie it looked like that service rifle of the soldier went off accidentally while as all angles are being investigated. Police have registered a case and started the investigations (TDD)
