DAY-2: Anti-Terror Operation Continues in Majalta Hills of J&K

‘Special Operation Group Cop Martyred, Two Other Injured’

Jammu: Gunfight continues in the upper reaches of Majalta Tehsil of District Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory of India between a group of terrorists, and security forces Tuesday on consecutive second day.
The exchange of fire took place amid a massive huntdown launched by the joint teams of Indian Army, Special Operation Group (SOG) of J&K Police, and Paramilitary Force in Soan village and its surrounding hills of Majalta.
“Yesterday, a SOG personal Amjad Pathan laid down his life, while fighting against the terrorists,” said the reports, pouring in from the encounter site in the hills of Majalta that links Ramnagar-Udhampur.


Additional deployment has been rushed to the encounter site, and a massive cordon and search operation has been launched with the help of the Village Defence Groups (VDGs) in the hilly areas of the Udhampur District.
The security forces have pressed in drones, and sniffer dogs to tracedown the hiding terrorists under thick forests of Majalta. (Agencies)
