DISTRICT POLICE UDHAMPUR APPREHEND BOOTLEGGER WITH 55 QUARTERS OF ILLICIT LIQUOR

UDHAMPUR: TDD,In a concerted effort to combat illegal activities, District Police Udhampur have apprehended a bootlegger and seized 55 quarters of illicit liquor in the Thathi area of Udhampur.

Police team of PS Rehambal led by its SHO while performing routine vehicle checking in collaboration with the Special Surveillance Team (SST) near Thathi area apprehended one person who was moving towards Thathi side by foot and carrying a plastic sack on his shoulder. Upon searching/frisking, 55 quarters of illicit liquor 180ml each were recovered from his possession. The accused, identified as Abhi Verma S/O Sham Lal Verma resident of Chadani Malhar who has been arrested on the spot.

Subsequently, a case has been registered under FIR No. 205/2024 U/S 48(A) at Police Station Rehambal.

District Police Udhampur remain committed to maintaining law and order in the region and will continue their efforts to curb illegal activities.TDD
