Indian Army Organises Lecture on Physical Fitness at Surankote, Poonch

Poonch: DD, Continuing its sustained efforts to promote awareness and enhance the overall well-being of local youth, the Indian Army organised a lecture on Physical Fitness at Surankote, District Poonch.
The event aimed to motivate the younger generation to adopt a disciplined and healthy lifestyle by incorporating regular physical activity into their daily routine.
The lecture began with an insightful session on the importance of physical fitness and its strong connection with mental health, endurance and productivity.
The speaker emphasised that a fit and healthy body not only enhances energy and confidence but also fosters a positive attitude and resilience to face life’s challenges.


During the interactive session, participants were briefed on various forms of physical activities including running, stretching, yoga and strength training and guided on how these can be incorporated into everyday life without the need for specialised facilities.
The lecture also underscored the significance of a balanced diet, proper hydration and adequate rest to complement physical exercise.
Special focus was laid on the benefits of outdoor activities such as sports and adventure training, which help develop teamwork, discipline and leadership qualities among the youth.
Indian Army personnel also highlighted the crucial role of physical fitness for aspirants aiming to join the Indian Armed Forces and other uniformed services.
The session concluded with a motivational address, encouraging participants to take personal responsibility for their fitness and inspire others in their communities to follow suit.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 15 local youths, who appreciated the initiative and requested similar sessions to be organised regularly in the future.
The initiative was highly appreciated by the local populace and reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to fostering a healthy, motivated and disciplined youth community in the remote areas of Jammu & Kashmir.DD
