Poonch, TDD: The Inter District Divisional Level Football competitions for Girls under 19 was inaugurated with great pomp and show today at Sports Stadium Poonch by Mr. Vikas Kundal (IAS) Deputy Commissioner Poonch. The event, hosted by the District Youth Services and Sports Office, Poonch, as a part of annual sporting calendar 2024-25 at total of four district from Jammu division are participating.
In the inaugural match Kathua beat Jammu by 3-1 goals in the second match
In the second match of the day Poonch beat Samba by 4-0 goals Shazia scored two goals and Mehnaz and Aliya scored one coach each for District Poonch.
Earlier DYSSO Poonch presented a welcome address and brief about the event. Speaking at the inauguration Mr.Vikas Kundal IAS DC Poonch gave his best wishes to all the participants and advised them to play games with the true spirit of sportsmanship and to aim for success in future. He also advised them take participate in sports with positive mind set and keep them self away from anti social activities and channel the energy in positive direction through the medium of sports and academics.
The tournament is being organized under the patronage of Rajinder Singh Tara (JKAS), Director General of Youth Services and Sports, JK UT, and overseen by Mr. Mool Raj Uttam DYSSO Poonch, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams across various districts of Jammu Division. The football competitions will continue over the next four days at the same venue, providing a platform for young talent to shine also to raise the teams for upcoming Inter Divisional UT Level Competition.
Other prominent present were Mr. Tahir Nirdosh Kumar Manager Sports Stadium Poonch and event was also attended by key officials, including all ZPEO’s along with other department officials and employees of JKSC unit Poonch,
while Vijay Kumar PEM conducted the opening ceremony. Matches were officiated by panel of technical officials constituted by DYSSO Poonch. TDD
